Upon referral from a previous client the homeowner contacted us to repair the paver brick front entrance. The paver brick had an historical value and for this reason new construction was not considered. The existing damaged mortar and brick were removed and replaced in order to keep the same look and prestige that was present for many years.

The existing concrete step base had settled. Note the large space in the before pictures at the top tread and how mortar is present to show the original height. Imagine Brick removed the original steps and concrete base. A new base was constructed using steel to tie the new footing into the stoop to prevent any further settling problems. The new steps totaled five treads. The original steps totaled four and had settled enough to justify a complete tread when reconstructed. Solid brick are also used for the best look.

Homeowner was concerned about settlement cracks over their front porch arch. The arch itself was still sound but with time would also fail; this timely repair avoided a much bigger job later. We built a frame to support the arch itself, removed the inside trim board and then removed the 3 courses of brick above the arch on both the inside and outside wall. The arch itself remained intact. We could then re-lay these courses restoring structural strength and good looks. The top course in the outside wall was laid from the inside avoiding any need to disturb the outside trim.

This column was damaged by a falling limb during an ice storm. We demolished the damaged section, leaving exterior light wiring intact, disposing of the debris without damage to surrounding areas. The column was then rebuilt leaving the wiring for an exterior light in place. The column is of same design and painted white to match existing brickwork.
